Tips For Planning A Successful Fundraising Event

About Me
Personal History As Told By Clothing and Accessories

While there are some of my clothes that get thrown out, there are also a lot that I keep in storage. Once in a while, it is fun to look through them and remember the times long ago when I wore them. Some clothes are things that I wonder why I ever wore them. Some are simply too small for me to fit in. Some clothes items, such as some of my old band t-shirts take me back and remind me of cool places I visited and fun bands that I saw back when I was a a lot younger. This site is dedicated to telling your personal history through clothing and fashion.

Tips For Planning A Successful Fundraising Event

Organizing a fundraising event comes with a great deal of responsibility. With so much to do, it may seem that you've taken on an impossible task, but you can do it. Here are a few tips that can help you plan a successful fundraising event.

Create a Plan

Get out a notebook and start writing up a plan for the event.

  • What type of event do you hope to hold?
  • How many people would you like to attend?
  • What is the cause?
  • When and where will it be held?

The more you know at the start, the easier it will be to pull everything together.

Delegate Responsibilities

Surely you can find at least one other person to help you get through the planning process. If you can split the to-do list up among a group of people, nobody will feel overwhelmed. Sure, you're going to have to stay informed and stay on top of the people that you have helping to ensure that they are getting the work done, but it's still going to be easier than trying to do it all on your own.

Sell T-Shirts

Get some custom shirts made to sell the day of the event and even the weeks leading up to the event. Even if you only make a dollar or two off of each shirt, the amount of awareness that people wearing those shirts will bring is well worth the time and investment.

Look into custom dri fit printing for shirts. People are always looking for comfortable clothes to wear to the gym or to ball practice, so if you get a nice, breathable shirt, they will have exactly that and they will wear it and do a bit of promoting for you while they do.

Utilize Social Media

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are perfect platforms to advertise for your fundraising event. It doesn't cost you anything to use these sites and once people begin sharing the posts, the word will spread and the potential for success increases.

Look into the local Facebook Groups for your area. Some areas have online yard sale groups that allow advertising of this type of event. The more localized the advertising, the better the outcome.

Start working to get the planning process kicked off. Get the date set, the name of the event and get those t-shirts ordered and begin raising money for the cause that you hope to help.
